16-1546 is Pantone’s colour of the year for 2019 – a colour which supposedly reflects a “need for optimism and joyful pursuits”. Every year, Pantone picks a colour based on analysing trends and discussions. Living Coral follows last year’s Ultra Violet, and is a warmer, brighter and more topical choice that reflects the ongoing deterioration of corals reefs across the globe. The decision to make this the colour of choice in 2019 will not only inspire the world of fashion, industrial and graphic design, but hopefully raise awareness and consideration for our precious underwater ecosystems.
